St Barnabas Church
The beautiful local church was built around 1868 by Thomas Combe, Printer to the University, with the support of his wife Martha. It was set up to serve the spiritual needs of the workers of the Oxford University Press and their families. The Jericho St. Barnabas Community Centre
The Jericho St. Barnabas Community Centre serves the residential district of Jericho in the heart of Oxford. It is on the corner of Canal Street and Cardigan Street and hosts many local activities, including babies and toddlers club, and a Saturday Community Cafe — as well as numerous classes from art to yoga to Egyptian dance. The Centre is run by the Jericho Community Association which raises income for the Centre by letting out office space and also several large rooms - ideal for meetings and family parties.
